A funeral Mass for Paul L. Ward, 87, a Carson City resident for the past 22 years, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in the small chapel.

Visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.

Mr. Ward died Jan. 29, 2004, at his home. He was born Sept. 3, 1916, in Wichita, Kan., to Issac E. and Elizabeth Hoye Ward.

He married Bertha Sandoval in Fillmore, Calif. in May 1958.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Bakersfield, Calif.

Mr. Ward was a football fan. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Teresa of Avila Church.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in Midway.

He was preceded in death by brothers Dan and Victor and sisters Christina and Helena Ward.

Among his survivors are his wife, son Michael and daughter Diana Ward, all of Carson City; two granddaughters and four great-granddaughters.

Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
