John Arnold Week

A private service will be held for John Arnold Week, 79, a Carson City resident since 1973, who died July 8, 2004, in Carson City.

He was born on April 16, 1925, in Iron Mountain, Mich., to Syvert and Elvie Week.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Portland, Ore.

Mr. Week was a tool-and-diemaker.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, earning a Purple Heart.

He was a member of VFW and Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed recreational gold mining, his dogs and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Bud Week in 1979, Robert Week in 1953, and David Week in 1998.

His survivors include his wife of 53 years, Elinora Week of Carson City; sister Dorothy Kempel of Fargo, N.D.; and brothers Richard Week of Quartzsite, Ariz., Donald Week of New Braunfels, Texas, and Kenneth Week of Carson City.

Donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimers Association, P.O. Box 6362, Reno, NV 89513.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
