A Carson City judge refused to release an accused bank robber awaiting sentencing who had his bail revoked last week.

Judge Michael Griffin said whomever posted the $40,000 bail for Paul Pasillas, 46, "called and said she wanted to revoke it, and I said fine."

When defense attorney Paul Giese asked that Pasillas be released on his own recognizance, Griffin scoffed.

"He walked into a bank with a gun," he said.

Pasillas pleaded guilty in May to the March 10 armed robbery of the First National Bank of Nevada at William and Carson streets.

A half-hour after he walked into the bank and brandished what police later discovered was a pellet gun, police found Pasillas sitting at the bar in Barb's Y Not Saloon on Long Street about four blocks from the bank.

Clothing described as worn by the robber was found in the saloon's bathroom. Detectives pulled wads of stolen cash from Pasillas' pockets and sock.

He will be sentenced July 26.
