A Mitsubishi convertible containing two Reno men flipped at Cave Rock on Tuesday morning when the car hit an embankment, a Nevada Highway Patrol officer said.

Driver Neil Tastet, 26, and passenger Joseph Taylor, 25, sustained minor injuries in the accident and were taken to Barton Memorial Hospital.

Trooper Chuck Allen said both were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not involved in the 7 a.m. accident.

The two were diverted from traveling over Spooner Summit, which was closed due to a police pursuit. They were traveling westbound, toward Stateline, when the car hit the embankment and flipped, Allen said.

Allen said high speed contributed to the crash.
