Tri-Net search finds crystal meth

A four-month investigation led narcotics officers to a home on Menlo Drive Thursday night where they allegedly found 750 grams of crystal methamphetamine, officials said Friday.

Sgt. Scott Jackson, of the Tri-Net Narcotics Unit said the 13Ú4 pounds of drugs was worth about $125,000 on the street.

Officers arrested 28-year-old Salvador Mena Orozco, from Carson City, on suspicion of 13 felony counts of trafficking a controlled substance. Bail was set at $500,000. Also arrested was 27-year-old Diana Montero Viera, from Carson City, on suspicion of two counts of felony trafficking a controlled substance. Bail was set at $500,000. Both were in custody in the Carson City Jail.

The drugs were found in Apartment No. 24 at 2802 Menlo Drive.

A second search warrant was served at 3258 Dale Drive where another 466 grams, nearly 1 pound, of crystal methamphetamine and numerous firearms were alleged to have been found. No arrests were made at the Dale Drive address.

Tri-Net is made up of the Nevada Department of Public Safety's Investigations Division, sheriff's departments from Carson City and Douglas, Lyon and Storey counties and the Nevada National Guard Counterdrug Task Force.

The Carson City Department of Alternative Sentencing also assisted in this investigation, Jackson said.
