A memorial Mass for Gerald James McHugh, 74, a Carson City resident for the past 33 years, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.

Mr. McHugh died July 28, 2004, in Carson City. He was born April 29, 1930, in San Francisco to James Edward and Phyllis Christensen McHugh.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived at Lake Tahoe, Calif.

Mr. McHugh was a gaming investigator for the state of Nevada for more than 29 years, retiring in 2001.

He was a member of Kiwanis, the International Police Officers Association and the Korean War Veterans Association. He enjoyed the ocean, traveling, studying genealogy, his Irish heritage and visiting Ireland.

He was a sergeant first class in the U.S. Army and served two tours in Korea.

Among his survivors are his wife, Patti of Carson City; sons Michael of Fort Bragg, Calif., Dennis of Carson City and Patrick of Gardnerville; and six grandchildren.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
