A memorial service for Charles Wesley Brown Sr., 90, a Carson City resident for the past five years, will be at 2 p.m. June 12 at the Comstock Mobile Home Park in the clubhouse.
Mr. Brown died March 25, 2004, at his home. He was born July 15, 1913, in San Diego, Calif., to B.R. and Anna Pearl Brown.
He attended Lakeside Grammar School, Grossmont High School and studied poultry raising at the University of California Davis.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Randle, Wash., and Crescent Mills, Calif.
Mr. Brown was a chicken rancher. He was a life member of the Lakeside Historical Society and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in the U.S. Navy Sea Bees, 88th Construction Batallion for three years in the South Pacific during World War II.
Among his survivors are his daughter, Charlene Robinson of Carson City; son, C.W. Brown, Jr., of Philomath Ore.; sister and brother Estella Sommerville and Roy E. Sr., both of Lakeside, Calif.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
It was his wish that he be cremated and his ashes scattered at sea.
