Virginia L. Bolander

Virginia L. Bolander, 88, a Virginia City resident for the past 44 years, died June 5, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Feb. 2, 1916, in Springfield, Mass., to the Nobles.

Before moving to Virginia City, she lived in California's San Fernando Valley.

Mrs. Bolander was the owner/operator of The Turquoise Shop in Virginia City. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and the outdoors.

She also enjoyed teddy bears and animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988.

Among her survivors are her sons Richard Wegman of Virginia City, Marc Wegman of Oregon, Jon Wegman of Walnut Creek, Calif., and James Bolander of Reno; and stepson John Bolander and stepdaughter Dorothy Bolander, both of Virginia City.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
