The Carson High softball team rebounded from its loss to Douglas on Tuesday with an impressive 21-0 win over South Tahoe on Thursday at home.

Carson (2-1, 1-1) in the Sierra League was coming off a 10-0 loss to Douglas. "In some respects it's good, in some respects it's bad," said Carson coach Scott Vickrey about playing a talented Douglas team early in the year. "I think it kind of woke them up a bit."

Mandy Carvin and Lindsay Farnworth combined on the shutout. Carvin was the winning pitcher, striking out three through three innings while giving up one hit and walking none. Farnworth pitched two scoreless innings, striking out four and walking one.

"I'm really happy with both of the pitchers," said Vickrey, who also said Ari Gonzalez caught a strong game. "The whole team contributed. I was pleased with that."

Katie Davis went 3-for-5 with a double, Robin Conn and Jamie Yenter each had two hits and a double, Jessica Ashbaugh went 2-for-2 and Farnworth doubled.
