Lillian B. Portelli a Carson City resident for the past four years, died March 26, 2004, at Evergreen Care Center in Carson City. She was born July 22, 1921, in Ohio. She was 82.

Prior to living in Carson she lived in Gardnerville.

Mrs. Portelli was a Catholic Daughter in Van Nuys, Calif. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening, the outdoors, helping people, giving advice and time spent with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Portelli, daughters Patricia Matuzak on July 25, 2003, Giovanan Portelli and brother Jimmy Smith.

Among her survivors are here daughters and sons-in-law Gloria Betrue and Jack Sargent, Sandy and Warren Dombrowski all of Gardnerville, Kathy and Bill McDuffee of Minden; daughter Mary Lutz of Gardnerville, and son-in-law Bill Matuzak of Simi Valley, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held in the San Fernando Mission in San Fernando, Calif.

Capital City Cremation & Burial is in charge of arrangements.
