A memorial service for Frederick Theodore Thomsen, 62, a lifetime Northern Nevada resident, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Carson City.

Mr. Thomsen died May 10, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born Aug. 21, 1941, in Gardnerville, to Frederick and Josephine Thomsen.

He attended Douglas High School.

He married Carol on Dec. 29, 1962, in Carson City.

Mr. Thomsen worked for the Nevada Department of Transportation for 30 years as a photogrammetrist. He was a member of the 20/30 Club, a volunteer firefighter in Gardnerville, a hunter and a fisherman. He served in the National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnne Sinclair-Foster, and nephew Michael Sinclair.

Among his survivors are his wife of 41 years; children Kellie and Todd Butterworth and Kim Thomsen, and grandson, Jeremy Pacheco, all of Carson City; sisters Betty Beck and Rose Marie Laird; brothers Bob, Roy, Francis, Hank and Willie; one grandchild; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
