A funeral for Orval T. Heitman, 88, a Carson City resident for the past two years, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Heitman died May 12, 2004, in Carson City. He was born Aug. 21, 1915, in Carter, S.D., to Theodore and Matilda Krueger Heitman.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in San Carlos, Calif.

Mr. Heitman was a machinist and inventor. He was a member of the Capitol Christian Center Church in Carson City. He enjoyed gardening, reading his Bible and ministering to others.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, in 2002.

Among his survivors are his daughters Cheryl Canary of Carson City, Sharon Harder of Minden, Terrie Bergantz of Carson City and Tami Harder-Wales of Phoenix; son, Tim of San Diego; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
