Heberger wins calf roping

Aaron Heberger, competing for the Carson-Douglas Rodeo Club, won Sunday's go-round in calf roping at a Nevada state high school rodeo in Elko.

Heberger, a Galena High senior, won the event with an excellent time of 10.92 seconds. Heberger had an outstanding weekend as on Saturday, he took fourth in steer wrestling (6.42), seventh in calf roping and with partner Jake Ward took eighth in team roping (12.41).


In addition, Carson High's Alyce Kugler took fourth in Saturday's barrel racing (18.659) and was eighth in Sunday's girls cutting (70 points).
