Northern 4A all-star hoops games set

The first Northern 4A boys and girls all-star basketball games will be played on Monday, May 24 at Damonte Ranch High.


The girls game will be at 6 p.m. with the boys game following at 8. The games will feature the top senior players from the Sierra League against the top senior players from the High Desert League. Seniors who made their all-league first and second teams are eligible to play.


Among the Carson Country players who are eligible to play in Monday's game include Carson High's Ciarra Christian, the Sierra League Player of the Year, Katie Kotter, an all-league first team choice, and Tabitha Adams, an all-league second team choice. Douglas High's Julie Gingrich, an all-league second team choice, is also on the roster.

For the boys, Douglas High's Nick Summers, a first team choice, and Luke Rippee, a second team choice, are on the roster. Among the other players eligible to play include Carson's Rory Wunsch, a first team choice, and Jeff Hurzel, a second team choice. Galena's Iain Hill, an all-High Desert League second team choice, is eligible to play as well.


Between games, there will also be a three-point shooting contest for the participating players in which a boy will be paired with a girl in the competition.
