The Carson High girls soccer team received virtually no challenge from Hug in rolling to a 15-0 win at home on Saturday.

Carson improved to 5-1-1 in the Sierra League. The game did serve as at tuneup for a showdown on Tuesday at Galena in a game in which the Senators will face the High Desert League's top team. "It should be a fairly tough match I would think," Carson coach Randy Roser said.

The Senators will then host North Tahoe, one of the top Northern 3A teams, at 7 p.m. Thursday. "I think we've got a couple of tough ones coming up."

Against Hug, Danielle Benamati scored four goals, Sophia Rafael had three goals, Morgan Beam scored twice and Ann Sinnott, Erica Roth, Sammi Valerius, Cassie Bowman, Laura Hale and Kasey Cano all scored once. "It was one of those things where even things that weren't shots went in," Roser said.

Kaitlyn Hasty and Allie Otto combined on the shutout in the goal.
