A Storey County woman bailed out of jail Thursday, four days after she allegedly shot her husband in the back during a domestic dispute.
Genevieve Caswell, 48, posted a $30,000 bond on a charge of second-degree attempted murder.
According to the arrest report, deputies responded to the Caswell's Jumping Frog Lane home in Mark Twain where they found Angelo Caswell, 48, lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to his back.
"(Genevieve) Caswell was on the porch with her hands in the air and screaming, 'I shot my husband. Please get him some help,'" Storey County Deputy John MIchael Mendoza wrote.
Mendoza said he found a .357 magnum revolver on the bedroom floor. One spent casing and four cartridges remained in the gun.
"Genevieve stated they had been arguing and she was leaving him," the deputy wrote. "She also stated several times, 'Why did he make me do it?'"
Angelo Caswell was in critical condition Thursday, said District Attorney Harold Swafford.
