The second Hispanic Community Information Night at Bordewich-Bray Elementary School will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
"When you don't speak the language, it's very hard for an individual to get any information," said organizer Evelia Reyes, who is the school's English as a second language coordinator. "This is a different culture. A lot of Hispanics don't know how to get around, or simple things like calling 911."
The turnout for last year's Hispanic Community Information Night was good, but this year's is more organized.
"This is the best-coordinated," Reyes said. "We're expecting quite a bit of people. It's open to everybody. Anybody and anyone interested can come. Anyone in the Spanish-speaking community should be here."
Information will be available for students, parents and business owners. Reyes will share information about ESL classes that are offered.
Hispanic Night will be in the school cafeteria. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and pan dulce - a Mexican sweet bread - will be served.
