Memorial services for Thelma V. Fodrin will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 7 at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Fodrin, 88, a Carson City resident for more than 50 years, died on Sept. 3, 2004 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital.

She was born March 17, 1916, in Los Gatos, Calif., to William A. and Bernice Dement Taylor.

She graduated from Los Gatos High School and married Charlie Case in 1934. She later married Mel Fodrin in 1963.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Reno. She served as administrative assistant to the State of Nevada Department of Highways for 26 years. She also loved to bowl and play gin rummy and nickel slots.

She devoted her life to her family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, who died in 1990, her second husband in 1988, and two brothers.

Her survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, respectively, Carol and Art VanDyke of Carson City, Cookie and Scott Evans of Minden; son and daughter-in-law Charlie and Carol Case of Carson City; sister Jean Cousin of New Mexico and eight grandchildren and seven grandchildren.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory. Donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is handling arrangements.
