Morgan Beam and Danielle Benamati each scored three goals as the Carson girls soccer team rolled to a 13-0 win at Hug on Tuesday.

"Hug is playing much better," Carson coach Randy Roser said. "They're 13 goals but they're all 13 earned goals. Hug's actually improving. They're going to surprise a couple of teams."

"We got to work on a lot of things that we've been working on in the last week of practice. The girls had to be a little more creative. They did do well."

Kathryn Rogers, Erica Roth, Laura Hale, Krista Wisbar, Ann Sinnott, Sarah Johnston and Cassi Bowman all scored one goal. Allie Otto made one save in posting the shutout.

NORTH TAHOE 3, CARSON BOYS 1

Carson coach Jason Koop said he wasn't pleased with his team's play in its loss to Northern 3A power North Tahoe.

"Two completely different teams on our part," said Koop, referring to his team's strong play early in the season compared to its play on Tuesday. "It was kind of frustrating.

"Defensively we didn't play well as a unit. Give North Tahoe a little bit of credit. They played well."

North Tahoe scored on two penalty kicks and on a 40-yard shot to take a 3-0 lead. Carson didn't score until there was five minutes left on a goal by Edgar Gomez. "It was just too little, too late," Koop said. "We were just sluggish the whole match."

CARSON JV BOYS 5, NORTH TAHOE 1

Martin Azzam scored two goals as the Carson junior varsity boys soccer team rolled to the win. Zach Weisman had two assists, Alex Kaskie and Drew Good each scored once, J.P. McFarren had an assist and Daniel Scarbrough scored a goal off of Andrew Hill's assist. Scarbrough also led a strong defensive effort and Donovan Sanchez posted 14 saves.
