A funeral for Edgar William Schneider Jr., 80, a Dayton resident for the past 14 years, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Mr. Schneider died Sept. 9, 2004, in Carson City. He was born April 3, 1924, in Guyman, Okla., to Edgar W. and Laurina Fajen Schneider.
Mr. Schneider was a fireman with Hughes Aircraft for 35 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline; and daughter, Jeanne Erickson.
Among his survivors are his son, Steve of Carson City; sister, Rose Kaminski of Laughlin; grandchildren Tim Schneider, Brian Schneider, Chad Schneider, Jolee Hoffman, Danielle Erickson and Lisa Wooley; and eight great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.
