I am the current two-term Mayor of Carson City. I love my job and I am honored to serve the people of Carson City. I'm committed and I work hard. I insist on open and accountable government.

Working with the Board of Supervisors, we've seen Carson City develop, prosper and move forward. The Carson City Freeway is underway, plans for drainage and flood protection are in place, the historic V&T Railway is under construction, we have low property tax rates, we have a strategic plan for job creation, economic vitality and maintaining our quality of life.

There is more work to be done to meet important challenges for the future. We must keep the Carson City Freeway on schedule - Fairview Drive by 2008 and the full facility to Spooner Junction by 2010. We must provide leadership and cooperate with the capital region's other local governments in economic development, keeping sales tax dollars within the region, implementing plans for primary jobs, housing, transportation improvements and quality of life enhancements.

Carson City must implement plans to replace the antiquated and undersized sheriff's facility and complete the work within the following two years. Additionally, our library's demands have outgrown the current facility.
