A bank and maybe a coffee shop are two of the new businesses being planned for the North Pointe Center at Goni Road and East College Parkway, one of the center owners said.

Connemara LLC recently purchased the 61Ú2-acre property from North Pointe LLC. Both companies are based in Carson City. Sperry Van Ness/Gold Dust Commercial Associates completed the sale.

Bruce Robertson, a Sperry Van Ness associate and Connemara LLC member, said the center's big tenant will be a bank. He envisions a dry cleaner, coffee shop and a small restaurant in the same building.

The sale of the 75,000 square-foot building closed Aug. 4, he said. The agreement will be finalized in about two weeks.

John Griffin, another member of Connemara, said tenant discussion is proceeding. The new design and layout are completed. The center will be renamed after the major tenant is announced.

Griffin said the company purchased the building for $2.1 million "because it's a great area of town and the next growth area of town with the freeway bypass going in and Wal-Mart."

"We'd like to have everything built out by the end of next year," he said.

Other Connemara members are Mike Bayliss and Carrie McAninch.
