Galena High graduate Annabeth Eberle ended her team career with a bang for the University of Utah women's gymnastics team at the NCAA Championships on Friday in Auburn, Ala.

Eberle, a senior, and Utah ended up third in the nation after the Super Six Finals. Georgia won the national title with 197.825 points and was followed by Alabama (197.400), Utah (197.275), UCLA (197.150), Michigan (196.575) and Nebraska (196.425).

Eberle can boast being part of the NCAA's best foursome, joining Nicolle Ford, Rachel Tidd and Ashley Postell. Ford finished with an all-around score of 39.55, Eberle and Tidd each finished at 39.50 and Postell finished at 39.325.

Eberle's highlight came when she scored a 9.90 on the balance beam as she received a perfect 10 from one judge. Utah assistant coach Megan Marsden said Eberle "had the best beam routine of her life."

Eberle also scored 9.875 on the floor exercise and the vault and 9.85 on the uneven bars.

Today, Eberle will end her career in the individual championships, qualifying in the vault and floor exercise to clinch All-American honors. Eberle finished as the 2004 NCAA runner-up in the vault.
