Irene Genevieve Wilson, 99, a Carson City resident for the past 16 years, died Dec. 3, 2005, in Carson City. She was born Jan. 25, 1906, in St. James, Minn., to Peter Cecil and Elizabeth Larsen.

She married John Wilson on Sept. 5, 1930, in North Dakota. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wilson and her husband farmed south of Dickens, Iowa. She was an excellent cook and baker and a talented pianist who, starting at age 14, played in silent movie theaters. She enjoyed her family.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Carson City and the Danish Lutheran Church in Spencer, Iowa.

Among her survivors are son and daughter-in-law, John "Jack" and Nora of Carson City; brother, Kenneth Larsen of St. James; grandchildren John Wilson of St. George, Utah, and Katie Lautzenhiser of Washoe Valley; three great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

A memorial service will be held at the Forest Lawn Chapel in Burbank, Calif.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
