A private service for Loretta Irene Rose, 92, a Reno resident for the past six years, will be at 4 p.m. today at Walton Funeral Home in Reno.

Mrs. Rose died Dec. 13, 2005, at the Life Care Center in Reno. She was born Feb. 4, 1913, in Newark, N.J., and lived in New Jersey her whole life until moving to Reno.

She married Edgar in 1937.

Mrs. Rose worked in an insurance rating office and then at Bell Laboratories where she was employed for 23 years and rose to be in charge of the filing/records department for the engineering division.

She enjoyed family gatherings and crocheting.

She was an avid reader. Her nickname was Honey.

Among her survivors are her husband of 68 years of Reno; sons and daughters-in-law Richard and Linda of Reno and Justice Bob and Jolene of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Judy and Skip Sims of Newtown, Conn.; grandchildren Tiffany, Ryan and Irene Rose of Reno, Heather Sims of Newtown, Darrell Sims and wife Carey of Gaithersburg, Md., and three great-grandchildren.
