A graveside memorial service for Kathleen "Kay" Shank, 84, will be at noon March 12 at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Ms. Shank died Jan. 10, 2005, at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. She was born June 11, 1920, in Chase County, Va., to William and Alice Royster Jennings.

She was a graduate of Fenn College, now Ohio State University, and completed post-graduate work at Northwestern University.

She enjoyed volunteer work while raising her two daughters, then worked for the Nevada State Division of Welfare in Fallon and Carson City for 17 years. She retired in 1980.

She was preceded in death by her parents and twin sister.

Among her survivors are her daughter and son-in-law Sue and Rich Nixon; daughter Kathe Carlton; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
