A graveside service for Norman G. Martini, 86, a Carson City resident for the past 13 years, will be at noon Thursday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Martini died Jan 1, 2005, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born May 31, 1918, in Chicago to Giorgio and Loretta Costrini Matresciano.

He attended high school in Chicago.

He married Eva Beni in Chicago. She preceded him in death in August 2003.

He spent most of his life in Chicago.

Mr. Martini was a salesman for Newark Electronics in Chicago for 26 years. He was a member of the Catholic Church.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and served with Gen. George Patton's Seventh Armored Division during the Battle of the Bulge.

Among his survivors are his sons Steven of Carson City and Dennis of Downers Grove, Ill.; brother, Albert of Forest Park, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
