A graveside service for Ruth Kemper Denison, 79, a Muscatine, Iowa, resident and former Carson City resident, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Mrs. Denison died Dec. 28, 2004, at Lutheran Homes in Muscatine.

She was born May 29, 1925, in Muscatine County to Edgar E. and Beulah French Kemper.

She attended Pine Mill Country School, Muscatine High School and nurses' training at St. Luke's School of Nursing in Davenport, Iowa.

She married Clyde William Denison on Sept. 15, 1957, in Torrance, Calif. After her husband retired, they moved from California to Carson City. She returned to Muscatine in 1993.

Mrs. Denison worked as a nurse in Torrance. She was a member of the Sweetland Center of Fellowship United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and niece Janet Hauck Butkus.

Among her survivors are stepson, Clyde Denison Jr. and step-granddaughters Christina and Nicole Denison, all of Mission Viejo, Calif.; brothers and sisters-in-law Mark and Carol Kemper of Elmwood, Ill., and Paul and Joyce Kemper and Edward and Judy Kemper, all of Muscatine; sisters and brothers-in-law Gladys and Wayne Mittman and Martha and Herman Hetzler, all of Muscatine; sisters Catherine Root of Muscatine, Doris Kruse of Davenport and Mary Hauck of Blue Grass, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sweetland United Methodist Church, Lutheran Homes or the Amenity Hospice Program.
