A graveside service for William Charles Giles, 85, a Trion, Ga., resident, formerly of Yerington, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery with military honors provided by the Veterans Memorial Association.
Mr. Giles died Jan. 9, 2005, in a nursing home in Trion.
He was born in Chattooga County, Ga., to Grady Lee and Ruthie Bell Williams Giles.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie; sisters Pauline Sprayberry and Margaret Campbell; and brother, Carl.
Among his survivors are sisters Sue Sharpe of Atlanta and Betty "Duene" Nicholson of Trion and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held at the Wilson Funeral Home in LaFeyette, Ga.
Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
