The Carson girls basketball team was firing on all cylinders right from the start in a 77-20 victory at Wooster on Saturday afternoon.

Carson jumped out to a 26-3 lead after one quarter and led 38-6 at halftime.

"I just think that they executed well and made their baskets, which allowed us to press," Carson coach Alana Williams said. "That was a key."

None of Carson's starters played more than 10 minutes during a game when the Senators' bench was impressive as well.

Playing against Wooster's starters, Carson's bench was able to outscore Wooster 23-2 in the fourth quarter.

"I was really happy that the non-starters came in and contributed 23 points in the fourth quarter and they had their starters in," Williams said. "That was impressive to me."

Nicole Scott scored 16 points and Andrea Hoff scored 12 of her 14 points in the first quarter.

Sinead McSweeney added 14 points, Sarah Johnston scored 10 points and Anna Macquarie had six points for Carson (5-2 in the Sierra League).

The Senators were also 10-of-13 from the foul line (77 percent).
