Michael Dayton Palmer, 61, a Gardnerville resident for the past 20 years, died May 28, 2005, at home. He was born Nov. 12, 1943, in Chicago to Charles Albert and Luella Jaehne Palmer.

He married Elaine Sept. 28, 1968, in Springfield, Ore.

Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in San Jose, Calif.

Mr. Palmer worked as a sheet-metal worker. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Pat Gunn.

Among his survivors are his wife of Gardnerville; daughter, Corena Clark; granddaughter, Rhonda Lynn Page; two great-grandchildren; sister, Cathy Hardison; eight nephews; and one niece.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

Inurnment will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley at a later date.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
