Joseph A. Ricard, Sr., 72, a Carson City resident for the past four months, died March 7, 2005, in Carson City.

He was born July 8, 1932, in Glynn, La., to Anthony Gussie and Ann Edna Darensbourg Ricard.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Mr. Richard was a military police officer for 20 years. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Monique.

Among his survivors are his sons Anthony of Colorado Springs, James of Arizona, Patrick of Colorado Springs and Joseph A. II of Carson City; sister, Theresa Bozik of Colorado Springs; brothers Eugene of Louisiana and Julius of Dayton; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

No service will be held.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
