(Appeal Capitol Bureau) Gov. Kenny Guinn has named Susan Gray administrator of the Nevada Equal Rights Commission.

She is currently the deputy attorney general representing the commission.

The appointment takes effect March 28.

Gray, 34, graduated from the Baltimore School of Law and lives in Henderson. Guinn said she has extensive experience interpreting equal-rights case law and has worked with federal programs overseeing equal rights issues.

"A strong Equal Rights Commission is crucial to protecting the rights of Nevadans and I selected Susan Gray to lead the commission because I knew she would continue the legacy of success that Lynda Parven created before leaving the agency last month," said Guinn.

Parven was promoted to deputy administrator for the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.
