A memorial service for Patricia A. Van Vliet, 75, a Gardnerville resident for the past 46 years, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church in Gardnerville.
Mrs. Van Vliet died May 3, 2005, at home. She was born Oct. 8, 1929, in San Pedro, Calif., to Burdette and Shelly Fuller McDonald.
Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in Turlock, Calif., for 12 years.
Mrs. Van Vliet and her husband owned and operated the Van Vliet Dairy on Highway 88 for 35 years before retiring. Prior to that, they operated a dairy in Turlock. She enjoyed horse shows, boating and the NHRA.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Van Vliet Scossa and sister, Arleen Nichols.
Among her survivors are her husband, Louis of Gardnerville; sons Lance of Austin, Texas, and Louis Jr. of Gardnerville; daughters Nancy of Gardnerville and Debra Ward of Carson City; sons-in-law Russell Scossa of Gardnerville and Mark Ward of Carson City; brother, Ronald McDonald of San Pedro, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nephew, Doug Nichols of Boulder City.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
