William R. R. 'Billy' Stodieck

A graveside service for William R. R. "Billy" Stodieck, 92, a lifetime Gardnerville resident, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Genoa Cemetery.

Mr. Stodieck died May 15, 2005, in Gardnerville. He was born Aug. 19, 1912, in Gardnerville, to Frederick W. and Adele Stodieck.

He raised different kinds of wild game, and raised rabbits for the J.T. Restaurant in Gardnerville for 20 years. He and his family owned and operated a dairy farm in Gardnerville until 1958, and then converted the operation to raising beef cattle. He was a lifetime member of the Douglas County Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by brothers W. H. Elvin in 1980 and A. Cecil in 1991.

Among his survivors are his nephew and wife, Fred and Betty Stodieck of Gardnerville; and niece and husband, Kaysia and David Barr of Miramonte, Calif.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
