A business can contribute to the community in its own unique way, and Harley-Davidson Financial Services of Carson City has done that.
The business donated a Limited Edition 2005 Sportster XL 1200C valued at more than $13,000 to benefit the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center. Raffle tickets are $20 and all proceeds from the raffle will go to the cancer center.
The drawing will be held Nov. 12 at the community open house for the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center on Medical Parkway. You can see the motorcycle on display at Sharkey's Casino in Gardnerville.

The cancer center broke ground in February 2005 and construction is expected to be completed in early 2006.

Sperry Van Ness completed the sale of Crystal Bay Plaza Offices, a 7,442-square-foot building, to a Reno based private investor for $1.6 million. The property is at 10 Stateline Road in Crystal Bay.
Derrick Parish of Sperry Van Ness Gold Dust Commercial Associates in Reno represented both the buyer and the seller, an Austin, Texas-based private investor. Parish said the buyer is a Reno casino owner and real estate developer.
Brad Woodring has joined Sierra Pacific Power Co.'s Economic Development Department as the economic development executive. He has responsibility for helping attract new companies to Northern Nevada, specifically the rural Nevada areas.
