A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder Friday evening after driving his truck into the showroom of a local car dealership, damaging three cars and nearly hitting two employees.
Travis Williams, 22, of Gardnerville, was arrested at 6:46 p.m. Friday at Michael Hohl Motor Company, 3700 S. Carson Street, after allegedly driving his red Dodge pickup truck into the showroom.
According to the police report, witnesses allegedly saw Williams doing burnouts in the parking lot and after being asked to slow down by employees, lined his truck up with the ramp to the showroom and drove forward.
His truck collided with a 2006 GMC Yukon, pushing the SUV into a 2006 Cadillac XLR, which then hit a 2006 Cadillac CTS, all parked on display in the showroom.
Witnesses said Williams' truck missed hitting two employees "by less than a foot, causing them to dive out of the way," according to the arrest report.
Police later found paraphernalia and marijuana in the truck, according to the report.
Williams was arrested on suspicion of two counts of felony attempted murder with a deadly weapon, destruction of property, misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $60,496.
