Man arrested after allegedly violating protective order twice

A 53-year-old transient is in jail after being arrested twice in 48 hours for the same offense.

Jay High was arrested at 8:36 a.m. Friday at Wendy Drive and Saliman Road on suspicion of felony burglary and misdemeanor violation of a domestic protection order.

High allegedly broke into the home of his domestic partner and was hiding in the attic when officers arrived, according to the arrest report. The victim took out a protection order against High last year.

High was booked into the Carson City Jail with bail set at $26,132. While in jail, High allegedly called the victim and left a message on her answering machine. He was released on bail Saturday morning and immediately returned to the victim's house, according to the arrest report.

High was arrested for the second time at 10:43 a.m. Saturday on suspicion of misdemeanor violation of a domestic protection order. His bail was increased by $15,000 and will be required to wear an ankle bracelet.
