The Lyon County Sheriff's Office has asked that the Nevada Department of Transportation close or restrict traffic on Highway 95A from the Fernley-Reno Raceway to Silver Springs and Highway 50A from Main Street in Fernley to Hazen, due to snow and ice.
Deputies are working several accidents, and ask the public to stay of these roads until further notice.
The state's road information system calls for chains or snow tires required on Highway 50 from Silver Springs to the Leeteville Junction and farther east from Fallon to Frenchman. Chains or snow tires are required on Highway 95A from Interstate 80 to Fallon.
