Roberto Acosta Jr., 69, a Carson City resident for the past three years, died Oct. 25, 2005, in Carson City. He was born June 29, 1936, in El Paso, Texas, to Roberto Sr. and Maria Acosta.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in San Jose, Calif.

Mr. Acosta enjoyed music, taking walks and watching sports. He was a Catholic.

He was preceded in death by son, Robert, in 2005.

Among his survivors are his wife, Eleanor of Carson City; daughters Delia Marono of El Paso and Lilly Acosta of Long Beach, Calif.; stepdaughters Michelle Junios of Sacramento and Melissa Reed of Hayward, Calif.; stepson, Glen Reed of Campbell, Calif.; brothers Richardo Smith of El Paso, Charlie Smith of Houston and Lalo Acosta of Florence, Ariz.; numerous grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A private family gathering will be held.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
