Tom Discher, 57, a Carson City resident for the past five years, died Sept. 9, 2005, in Carson City. He was born June 4, 1948, in Hayward, Calif., to Donald and Merle Discher.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Reno for 15 years.
Mr. Discher was employed with Capitol Cab Co. and took pride in helping his elderly passengers. He was an avid tennis player.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Among his survivors are his father of Stockton, Calif., mother of Walnut Creek, Calif. and sisters Sally Eccles of San Jose, Calif., and Stacy.
A private memorial service will be at a later date.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
