Carson City Democrats will meet at 7 p.m. today at the State of Nevada Employees Association conference room, corner of Robinson and Roop streets.

Tourism Commission holds conference


Tourism development expert Roger Brooks will share his top 10 ideas for attracting more visitors at the Nevada Commission on Tourism's annual Rural Roundup conference in Carson City, today-Friday.

Alice Stuart to perform at Comma Coffee


Alice Stuart, successful rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist, will be performing with her blues band at 7 p.m. Thursday at Comma Coffee.

Senior Center holds free scrapbooking class


There will be a free scrapbooking class at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Carson City Senior Center's Jobs Peak Room. Participants should bring some photos for a sampler. Call 885-8230.




WNCC offers 'Money Talk' lecture on RE


Western Nevada Community College will be offering a "Money Talk" lecture at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the Reynolds School for Technology, Room 103. A real estate broker will be discussing trends for buying and selling commercial properties. Admission is free. Call 445-4278.




Douglas County


Workshops for caregivers at Douglas County Senior Center


Workshops for family and professional caregivers for those with Alzheimer's or other memory challenges will be available in Douglas County at the senior center at 2300 Meadows Lane in Gardnerville.


The first workshop is 2-4 p.m. Thursday and involves learning strategies for managing the stress associated with caregiving. The second workshop is 2-4 p.m. April 20 and involves skills for successful communication with persons who have memory challenges.


These workshops are free for family caregivers and $10 for professionals.

The Douglas County Democratic Central Committee will hold its next monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at its new headquarters in the old Minden Creamery, 1617 Water St.
