A graveside service for Richard Christopher Fether, 38, a 20-year resident of Carson City, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Mr. Fether died April 11, 2006, in Carson City. He was born June 22, 1967, in Jamestown, N.Y., to James F. and Yvonne M. Fether.

He married Carrie Draper in Gardnerville.

He attended Mason County High School in Belfair, Wash., and various military schools. He attended Western Nevada Community College.

He was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he worked in the U.S. Naval Submarine Force.

He was preceded in death by his sister Katrina Fether on Dec. 27, 1976, in Groton, Conn.

Among his survivors are his parents; son, Nathan Fether of Sacramento; brothers James F. Fether Jr. and Steven L. Fether; and several nieces and nephews.
