Muscle Powered to hold movie night


Muscle Powered will present its first annual summer movie night at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Carson City Library. The movies to be shown are "The Bicycle Thief" and "We Are Traffic." Admission is free, but donations are accepted. Light refreshments will be served.




'Night in Italy' to raise funds for Alzheimer's


The Carson City Senior Citizens Center's Alzheimer's team of walkers, "Ayer's Friends," will host a fundraiser from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday at the center, 911 Beverly Drive. In addition to a lasagna dinner prepared by the center's chef, there will be dancing to live music performed by The Encores, a no-host wine bar, a 50/50 raffle and door prizes. Cost is $5 for seniors and age 11-younger, general admission is $7. All proceeds go to the Alzheimer's Association of Northern Nevada. Call 883-0703.




World Dance Night at Comma Coffee


World Dance Open Floor Night will at Comma Coffee, Coffee, 312 S. Carson St., on Friday. Signups for dancing start at 7 p.m., and performances start at 8. Admission is free. All ages welcome.

Artists to show at Greenhouse Center


The Greenhouse Garden Center at 2450 S. Curry St. will host its annual "Art at the Greenhouse" show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Northern Nevada and Northern California artists and musicians will display or play their works around the greenhouse plants and fountains. Tahoe Creamery will serve ice cream cones, and Blondee's Coffee will offer specialty beverages. Free, call 882-8600.

'Hop Like a Frog' at Rancho San Rafael


Children ages 3 to 6 can discover what life is like for frogs and get to play leap frog during a free "Touching Nature" program at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. Participants should meet in front of the ranger's office.
