Richard Paul Rees, 80, a 20-year Carson City resident, died June 27, 2006, in Carson City.

Mr. Rees was born March 26, 1926, in Chicago to Robert S. and Hattie Rees.

He married Nancy Carlson Rees on July 2, 1952, in Camden, N.J.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Reno for 20 years.

He enjoyed RV camping, gardening and Cactus Jacks Casino. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Washoe Valley.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Paul Rees Jr., on July 29, 1997.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; daughter, Elizabeth Zenzic of Truckee, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Masayo Rees of Honolulu; sister, Dolores Churan of Wheaton, Ill.; brother, Donald Rees of Gardnerville; five grandchildren; and numerous extended-family members.

Cremation will take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
