A funeral service for Kenneth Heaps, 74, a 12-year resident of Gardnerville, will be 5 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Spruce and Deseret Drive in Minden. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City.
Mr. Heaps died March 7, 2006, at his home. He was born July 30, 1931.
He worked for Sonoma County for 16 years before retiring.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Among his survivors are his wife, Karoline; children Monte K. Heaps of Gardnerville: Kenneth L. Heaps, Denise and husband Jamie Heaps, and Kib R. Heaps, all of Southern California; John P. McDivitt Jr. and Judy G. Sorenson, all of Reno; Michael L. Medly of Yuma, Ariz.; Clarence D. Medley of Amarillo, Texas; John L. Medley of California; Richard F. Medley of Washoe Valley, and several extended-family members.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
