A graveside service with military honors for Chester F. Ferrel, 46, a resident of Silver Springs, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Mr. Ferrel died March 13, 2006, at his home in Silver Springs.

He was born to Lester and Phyllis Ferrel on Feb. 3, 1960, in Reno. He was a lifelong Nevada resident.

He was a heavy-equipment operator.

He enjoyed panning for gold, outdoors, working in his yard and helping people.

He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and a volunteer firefighter.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Among his survivors are his mother; wife, Cheryl; daughters Ciera and Nicole; son Charles; three brothers; seven sisters and two grandchildren.

Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington is in charge of arrangements.
