A funeral service for LaVerne E. Mucha, 88, a 20-year resident of Carson City, will be at 2 p.m. today at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith. A viewing will begin at noon. Burial will follow the service at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Mrs. Mucha died March 14, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 27, 1917, in Ohio, to John Barbara and Sarah Quneri.
Before moving to Carson City she lived in Manteca, Calif.
She enjoyed camping, fishing and gambling at the Nugget.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Mucha; son Joseph Jr.; a brother, two sisters, and a granddaughter.
Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law Ken and Kathleen of Irvine, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law Dolly and Dean Barnwell of Carson City; daughter Sarah Shclil, of Reno; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
