A celebration of life for Joseph H. Belford, 82, a Carson City resident since 1954, will be from 2-5 p.m. today at Eagle Valley Golf Course.

Mr. Belford died March 14, 2006, at home. He was born March 23, 1923, in Tacoma, Wash., to Virgil "Butch" and Marguerite Belford.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Dupont, Wash.

He attended St. Martin's College in Olympia, Wash.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was preceded in death by first wife, Loraine Belford, on June 23, 1984, in Carson City; brother Virgil "Dude" Belford in 1996, in Reno; brother Bob Belford on D-Day, in Normandy, France; and sister Marge Gadbow, in 2001 in Dupont, Wash.

Among his survivors are second wife, Marjory Belford; sons Randall Joseph Belford and Jack Smith, both of Reno; daughters and sons-in-law Robbin Jo and Orlando Sanchez of Las Vegas, Pamela Jo and Adam Romagna of Uncasville, Conn., Patty and Fred Cheslik of Sun Valley, Idaho, and Joanne and Dave Carlsen of Carson City; daughter Deborah Elkins of Carson City; sister and brother-in-law Monica Jo and Wilburn Ross, of Dupont, Wash.; brother and sister-in-law Don and Opal Belford of Olympia, Wash., five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Cremation took place at Capitol City Cremation.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice, 520 W. Sixth St., Reno, NV 89503.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
