One of the last opportunities for residents to talk about the city's draft planning documents will occur this week.

The Carson City Planning Commission will hold a special meeting at 5:30 on Monday to decide whether to recommend the draft master plan to the Board of Supervisors.

There also are an array of special reports and several specific plan areas included. These are locations where there are unique concerns about development, growth or uses.

Members of the Parks and Recreation Commission, Regional Transportation Commission, Open Space Advisory Committee and Carson River Advisory Committee all have recommended approval of the documents to the commission and supervisors.

The supervisors are scheduled to take action on the planning documents, known as Envision Carson City, during their April 6 meeting - and this will be the final chance for people to talk publicly about it before it's completed.

A copy of the final drafts are available on the Envision Carson City Web site at www.carsoncitymasterplan.com, or from the city's Planning Division office.

For details regarding the comprehensive plan, contact principal planner Lee Plemel at 887-2180. Direct questions about the Parks and Recreation Master Plan or the Unified Pathways Plan to Vern Krahn, parks planner, at 887-2363, ext. 1006.

The supervisors approved the current plan in 1996. Others were adopted in 1958, 1978 and 1983.
